Medical & Psychiatric Services

  • David Paulsrud, M.D., is the Medical Director at Jackson Recovery Centers. He has over 50 years of medical experience, and has been with Jackson Recovery Centers for 30 years. Dr. Paulsrud received his medical degree from the University of Iowa.

  • Dr. Richard Brown is the Medical Director for Child and Adolescent Services. He has over 32 years of experience in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry. He completed his Psychiatry training and residency in Psychiatry at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.

  • Rachel Wurth, MSN, ARNP FNP-BC, is the Assistant Medical Director at Jackson Recovery Centers. She has provided medical services for Jackson since 2011- initially through the Siouxland Community Health Center and now as a member of Jackson’s medical provider team. Rachel received her Nursing diploma degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Sioux City.

  • Collette McCullough, ARNP PMHNP, MSN
    Collette McCullough, ARNP PMHNP, MSN

    Collette McCullough, ARNP, MSN, conducts initial and ongoing psychiatric assessments, medication monitoring, and treatment planning to advance the integrated model of care. Collette has been with Jackson for more than 30 years, and has 40 years of experience in the medical field.

  • Jodi Best, ARNP PMHNP
    Jodi Best, ARNP PMHNP

    Jodi Best, ARNP PMHNP, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner that specializes in serving child and adolescent patients, along with adult women. She is also highly trained in the field of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Jodi joined our team in the spring of 2015.

  • Shawn Salmen, ARNP PMHNP, FNP-BC
    Shawn Salmen, ARNP PMHNP, FNP-BC

    Shawn Salmen, PMHNP, FNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who works with adolescents, adults and their families across Jackson’s programs. She also serves patients at Jackson's Family Health Care Clinic in downtown Sioux City. She received her Masters degrees in both Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University.

  • Andrea Harris, ARNP FNP-BC
    Andrea Harris, ARNP FNP-BC

    Andrea Harris, ARNP FNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner serving the medical needs for adolescents and adults across all of Jackson's programs. Andrea is a Sioux City native. She received her Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Briar Cliff University.
