Supporting Jackson / Get Involved Women & Children's AuxilaryThe Women and Children's Auxiliary is a group of women who do a variety of volunteer projects for the families at the Center. Their mission is a simple one that is enriching the lives of hundreds of mothers and their children each year—With kindness, compassion and generosity, the Auxiliary's goal is to support women with children who are taking the courageous steps to recover from their addictions. The Women and Children's Auxiliary was created in 2003, thanks to the passion of Auxiliary Co-Chair, Ginny Peterson. Since then the Auxiliary has grown to over 60 members of strong community leaders. This exceptional group of women supports the Women and Children's Center in many ways. Each year they host an Easter and Holiday Party for the patients, Thanksgiving dinner, as well as a back-to-school supply drive in the summer. The Auxiliary has brought joy and hope to the patients and their children. If you are interested in the Auxiliary please email rbollinger@jacksonrecovery.com or call Robin Bollinger at (712) 234-2383. "In exit interviews, patients graduating from the Women and Children's Center tell us one of the things they enjoyed the most during their stay were the activities sponsored by the Auxiliary." --Janelle Tomoson, Program Director "It's amazing to me that somebody cares enough about me and my children that they would do something so nice for us." --A Grateful Patient "Providing these gifts and events are always so much fun. But what means the most to me is seeing the joy on the mother's faces." --Cindy Hagen, Auxiliary Member |
