Gambling Treatment

Gambling addiction is just as real and its consequences just as tragic as alcohol or drug addiction. As with any addiction, compulsive gambling can be treated. Jackson Recovery Centers' treatment for gambling addiction focuses on recognizing problems and changing behaviors. The emphasis is placed on people taking responsibility for their own lives and actions. Services are also available for family members and loved ones affected by someone's gambling.

While in treatment at Jackson, each patient works with a therapist to develop a personal plan to:

  • Obtain and maintain abstinence from problem gambling activity
  • Reorganize debts
  • Re-establish family relationships
  • Develop coping techniques
  • Participate in a 12-step program
  • Address other possible addictions
  • Prevent relapse
  • Assess and treat other underlying problems
