Women and Children’s Center Auxiliary

With kindness, compassion and generosity, the Auxiliary's goal is to support women with children who are taking the courageous steps to recover from their addictions.

The Women and Children's Auxiliary is a group of women who do a variety of volunteer projects for the families at the Center. The Auxiliary was created in 2003 by co-founders Ginny Peterson and Marilyn Christiansen. Since then the Auxiliary has grown to over 60 members.

This exceptional group of women supports the Women and Children's Center in many ways. Each year they host:

  • Easter Party
  • Halloween Party
  • Holiday Party
  • Thanksgiving Dinner
  • Back-to-School Supply Drive

Ellen Nichols, current President of the Auxiliary has this to say about the group, "What I love most about the Auxiliary is that you can do just one event or as many as you like.  The group is just happy to have you, and the patients appreciate it so much."

Matt Cihak, Program Director of the Women and Children's Center says, "In exit interviews, patients graduating from the Women and Children's Center tell us one of the things they enjoyed the most during their stay were the activities sponsored by the Auxiliary."

The Auxiliary has brought an immense amount of joy and hope to the patients and their children. We invite you to make a difference in the lives of our patients and become a member of the Auxiliary.  Please call Janelle Tomoson at 712-234-2300 or email her at jtomoson@jacksonrecovery.com.
