Clinical Supervisor


Reports to: Program Manager

Successful incumbents will have experience supervising the organization and delivery of clinical services within the program area.  Ensure the delivery of quality services, positive outcomes and customer satisfaction. Implement systems of accountability  to monitor program utilization and staff resources.  Continuously monitor and refine the clinical program offerings to better serve patients.

Job Specifics:

  • Masters Degree in clinical area & Independent license or in the process of obtaining license, OR Bachelors Degree in Human Services and current enrollment in a Masters Clinical program with licensure eligibility.
  • Experience in the Substance Abuse field.
  • Supervisory experience
  • CADC and/or Licensed in the State of Iowa.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish working relationships with patients and families.
  • Complete admissions to program per program guidelines.
  • Help in the developing and implementation of lectures and educational programs for patients.
  • Participate in patient staffing/treatment planning.
  • Monitor and direct patient milieu as part of the program clinical team.
  • Communicate with physician and implement orders.
  • Interpretation of diagnostic procedures and lab values.
  • Monitor and document patient compliance medication and Doctors orders.
  • Insure patient’s medical needs are addressed.
  • Oversee administration of patient medication.
  • Monitor and report infection control issues regularly.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Report out of the ordinary situations to the supervisor or on-call manager.
  • Advocate for patients and families and promote destigmatization of the disease of addiction.
  • Maintain professional, personal, and emotional balance through continuous self-examination, supervision and feedback.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • RN License
  • Experience in the addiction/ mental health field (preferred)
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Bi-lingual skills (preferred).

  • Maintain 100% compliance with departmental standards as evidenced by chart audit results quarterly.
  • Patient medical interventions and treatments are documented as they occur.

  • Patients indicate their medical needs were met when completing the customer satisfaction survey.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  •  Bachelors Degree in Human Services + 2 years experience in the Human Service field.

  • Experience in the Substance Abuse field.
  • Eligible for IBSAC Certified and/or Licensed in the State of Iowa.

  • Assist the Clinical Supervisor and Program Director in maintaining an average daily budgeted census.

  • Documentation:  Teach, train and monitor program staff to maintain 100% compliance with regulations.
  • Stabilize and sustain a healthy environment for patients and staff by providing documentation that milieu management supervision is provided to all staff.

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Facilitate individual, group and family therapy as assigned.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment, treatment planning and discharge of patients.
  • Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources.
  • Develop and maintain the confidential patient record.
  • Advocate for patients and families, and promote destigmatization of the disease of addiction.
  • Maintain professional, personal, and emotional balance through continuous self-examination, supervision and feedback.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor'ss Degree in Human Services plus 1 year experience in human services field.
  • CADC certification
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Bi-lingual skills (preferred).

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
  • Provide nutritious snacks and lunches to children in the program.
  • Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
  • Clean and sterilize bottles, play equipment, cots, bedding, and other items as needed and by following the daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Follow policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary procedures.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and follow them as necessary.
  • Ensure children are supervised at all times following the mandated adult: child ratio.
  • Provide various experiences and activities for children including, but not limited to, songs, games, story telling, and crafts.
  • Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time for the children.
  • Establish routines following the daily schedule and provide positive guidance for the children.
  • Provide a safe environment for children to feel comfortable.
  • Implement positive discipline when required.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand.
  • Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child’s progress.
  • Maintain current, accurate and confidential files.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate in professional development conferences and workshops as required.
  • Administer first aid to children as necessary.
  • Work cooperatively with the daycare team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Shifts: Full Time, 2pm-12pm,PT 8am-2pm weekends, PT overnight

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and direct patient milieu at all times.
  • Monitor and document patient compliance with unit rules.
  • Document each patient’s participation in treatment activities.
  • Monitor and document appropriate passing of medications.
  • Transport patients as needed in company vehicles.
  • Report out of the ordinary situations to the supervisor or on-call manager.
  • Advocate for patients and families and promote destigmatization of the disease of addiction.
  • Maintain professional, personal, and emotional balance through continuous self-examination, supervision and feedback.
  • Be flexible to changes in scheduling with adequate notice.
  • Be available to take on-call on a rotation schedule. 

Educational/Experience Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  • Experience in the addiction field (preferred).
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Bi-lingual skills (preferred).
